Problem: Sometimes clients feel overwhelmed by the process of starting therapy. They aren’t sure if it’s going to help, they feel as if they need to be ten steps ahead of where they currently are and they can’t see a way forward.

Solution: I utilize a holistic and individualistic approach throughout the therapeutic process to accommodate each client’s unique experience, needs, and goals for therapy.

Result: I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment and value the importance of the therapeutic relationship so they can move forward with ease.

Experience: Katie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Athabasca University Graduate with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Over the past 10 years, Katie has been a District Elementary Counsellor with School District 61 and a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She has been a teacher for over 22 years. She has worked with a diverse background of clients with depression, anxiety, changing families, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation and distress.

Client Focus: School aged children and youth, adults and families.

Types of therapy: CBT (Mindfulness), Solution-Focused, Family Systems, Animal-Assisted, Play therapy, Nature-based and Client Centered.

Issues: Grief, anxiety, depression, ADHD, changing families, trauma.
